Spin Board Repair

Thanks to the generosity and contribution of White Oak Primary School’s former principal, Mrs. Amundson, our motor lab is equipped with lots of spin boards.  We purchased the first one from the Ready Bodies, Learning Minds website, but the others were hand made by Mr. Amundson. Spin boards are a very important and necessary piece of equipment at the Brain Train Depot.  It is the one station that never changes.  Students sit on the spin board with their legs crossed while pushing on the floor to spin themselves in either direction.  The problem is, after almost 10 years of constant use, they were malfunctioning.  The fix was pretty simple, though. Lowes or Home Depot carries the lazy susan mechanism that creates the rotation, so it was just a matter of replacing that piece of hardware to get the boards spinning freely again.  Below is a short demonstration.
