Stations beginning Oct. 26, 2009

1-spin board

Station 1 – Spin Board – Students will sit on their bottom with their legs crossed.  They push off the floor with their hands to spin themselves as fast or slow as they are comfortable with.

2-scooter board

Station 2 – Scooter Board – One student stands on the rope with both feet to keep it tight.  The other student lays on the scooter board on his/her stomach and pulls the rope hand-over-hand to the wall.

3-twirl

Station 3 – Twirl and Jump – Students stand on a colored square and swing the ball in front of them to jump over it.  They work on standing in one place and keeping the stick in a vertical position next to their leg.

4-launch board

Station 4 – Launch Board – Students place a beanbag on one end of the launch board.  They stomp on the opposite end causing the beanbag to pop up in the air so they can catch it.

5-dribble

Station 5 – Ball Dribble – Students dribble the ball in the blue square.  First and second graders walk around the ball as they dribble.

6-board work

Station 6 – Board Work – Students draw a spiderweb in one color and a tornado on top of their spiderweb in a different color.

7-cup walkers

Station 7 – Cup Walkers – Students walk forward, backward, and sideways on with their feet on the cup walkers and pulling the strings up as they lift their legs.

8-handy elbows

Station 8 – Handy Elbows – Students kneel in front of the box.  Bending at the waist, they pick the box up by using only their elbows. They turn to the left and place the box on the “X”, turn back to the center and set the box down on the “X” in front of them, turn to the right and place the box down on the “X”, and turn back to the center, placing the box on the “X”.

9-bunny hop

Station 9 – Bunny Hop – Students criss-cross bunny hop by hopping from dot to dot, two to the right, two to the left, and landing on both feet.

10-calve stretch

Station 10 – Calf Stretch – Students stand on the balance beam with their heels on the floor and the ball of their foot on the balance beam. They raise up on their feet and back down on their heels ten times.
